Phoenix engagement Photos: Two Ways

Let me cut right to the chase—I may be based in Seattle, but I will take (nearly) every opportunity to get out, travel somewhere new, and capture photos in a totally different setting. The PNW certainly has its charms, but I’ve always been more drawn to tropical places, humid climates, and even dry deserts more than the gray, wet days I grew up with.

So, this Phoenix engagement photo session was a dream to shoot. Clear blue skies and t-shirt weather in December?? I’m a fan.

What made this session even more special, was that we made it a two-parter:

  1. At Phoenix’s incredible Desert Botanical Garden right after it opened to catch the good light and avoid other guests.

  2. At the Scottsdale brewery where the couple met. 🥹

Keep scrolling for a peek at both of them.

Soft, succulent greens are my absolute fave and bring such a glow to these images.

Moving on to the second half of our time together at the place where it all began. For these images, I went for more of a film feel that fit the space better and to offer the couple more variety.

Taking unconventional engagement photos at a surprising place that’s special to your story or doing an activity that reflects you as a couple always (always) results in unique images that not only stand out but also serve as a special time capsule you can look back on for years to come.

How often do you have professional pics of you doing everyday things? Not often!

Take this as your opportunity to get photos that really look and feel like you. With all engagement sessions, I start with a complimentary call to get to know you two and your story together to determine potential session concepts, locations, clothing, and more.
